NEFC Winter World Cup 2026 Information and registration

Narangba Eagles FC Winter World Cup returns in 2026!

This in-house 9 a-side carnival for our U6 - U12 players will once again bring a whole lot of fun across the entire day on Sunday 5th July.

To compensate for the recent washed-out Miniroos fixtures, registration to this event is FREE!

If you've attended one of our Winter World Cups in the past, you'll know how much fun the children (and adults!) have.

There are THREE age groups:

U6/7/8
U9/10
U11/12

Please register players individually. Players will be seeded based on their age group and level of their current NEFC team and then drawn into teams.

Each team will represent an international World Cup team (Australia, Brazil, Denmark, England, Australia etc). All teams are guaranteed at least FOUR games (THREE group stage games and ONE knock-out). All players will play full games - there are no substitutions.

All elimination finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals, 3rd place play-off and World Cup final will, in case of a draw, be decided via a penalty shoot-out (5 penalty kicks from each team).

Awards will be given in each age group for:

GOLD - World Cup winners
SILVER - World Cup runners-up (2nd place)
BRONZE - 3rd place

There will also be an individual award for 'Player of the World Cup' in each of the three age groups.

The club's Metro Junior (U13-U18) players as well as players from our senior teams will referee and coach the World Cup teams. There will be two coaches per team.

This format and friendly World Cup atmosphere (including penalty shoot-outs and finals) are just a couple of things that have made this event a great success in previous years.

WHEN:

TIMES:

Arrival and kick-off times TBC

WHAT TO WEAR:

Game day kit or training jersey, club or dark shorts. Football boots and shin pads essential!

Format/rules:

9 a-side, 7 minute games on 40 x 30m fields with 3 x 2m goals. Goalkeepers permitted, no off-side. All teams guaranteed at least FOUR games (THREE group stage games and ONE knock-out). Elimination finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals and World Cup finals are knock-out games and will be decided via penalty shoot-outs in the event of a draw.

Places are limited, so get in quick! Registration is free but essential to secure a spot.
